Four More Years of Constitutional Destruction

The elections are over, and FUD won. For those who do not know, FUD stands for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, and is used to describe those times when people attempt to scare others into doing as they wish. Tricky Dick Cheney and Karl Rove have just shown a classic example of how to use FUD to get people to vote they way they want. “Terrorists might attack us” or “Osama wants Kerry to win” etc… Or did they?

This is an election that seemed to violate all the previous portents. The Redskins lost at home, but for the first time in 70 years, the incumbent still won. Record high voter turnout, but the democrats do poorly. Good weather in much of the country (with the notable exception of Ohio) and the democrats do poorly. Florida was not even close, despite previous predictions to the contrary, etc.

A potential explanation for this comes from the IP list. Apparently “in EVERY STATE that has EVoting but no paper trails has an unexplained advantage for Bush of around +5% when comparing exit polls to actual results.
In EVERY STATE that has paper audit trails on their EVoting, the exit poll results match the actual results reported within the margin of error.”

So, were damn near ALL the portents wrong, or have we just witnessed the first electronic vote stolen election in US history?
