My Library

Having just recently built another bookshelf and dragged my books from out of Christi’s closet, I did a quick frequency count on my favorite authors. The table shown here is the result. Heinlein is #1, which makes sense since he is my all time favorite author from the time I was 10 or so. David Drake is #2. His military fictional universe of “Hammer’s Slammers” is amazing, as is his descriptions of old Romans in “Ranks of Bronze” and “Killer”. #3 is Alan Dean Foster and his tales of the Humanx Commonwealth. #4 is Isaac Asimov and the Foundation tales as well as the detective tales of Elijah Bailey and Daneel Olivaw. Rounding out the top 5 is a tie with Robert Aspirin and his Myth tales and Julian May with her amazing stories of the mind powers of the Galactic Milieu (I think I finally convinced Christi to read these!). Unfortunately I have discovered that I am missing a few of Julian May’s books… not sure what happened to them… Oh well, I added them to my Amazon Wish list…
