iTunes

Well, with all the uproar around Playfair, I’ve decided to drop AAC as my format of choice and re-rip my 200 or so CDs to 256kbps mp3 instead. Not something to be undertaken lightly, but I’ve decided that it is unlikely I’ll buy an iPod anytime soon so it makes sense. Of course this will double the size of my music library without really making it sound any better, but I just got a 160GB hard drive and Christi is talking about getting a solid state mp3 player for jogging, so it just makes sense to have a format that is more portable. Of course, if I was really “rolemodeling risk taking” as we geekily say at Intel, I’d rip them all to Ogg instead, but iTunes can’t do that as far as I know and there are almost as few players that can play Ogg Vorbis as can play AAC.
